In September 2008 Munch Bunch was launched by Mary Ann Fickenwirth and Sharon Arnett, retired teachers and the Piqua Association of Churches (PAC) . After recognizing students' struggle to focus on academics when they are hungry, they began delivering 37 bags of food to Piqua City School students. With joint efforts of sponsors, community organizations, and volunteers by 2020 under the direction of Kathryn Bramlette, over 200 meals were being packed and sent out weekly throughout the Piqua City School District. Under the direction and leadership of Karen Miller and Howey Brown the program is set to relaunch September 2024 once again in conjunction with PAC and other community organizations/volunteers who aim to feed at least 1,000 each weekend.
